Most vacation specials I come across are geared toward couples or families. If you're a solo traveler, take heart. Long Bay Beach Resort in the B.V.I. is having a "Singles Sale" with single-occupancy pricing from $77.50 per night.
Calling All Unattached: Long Bay Beach Resort & Villas Declares October "Singles Sale" With 50% Off Stays for Solo Travelers
Dedicated Singles Tables at Restaurants, Matchmaking Concierge for List of Hot Spots, Single Spotting & Last Minute Candlelight Dinners in Event of Love Connection
Tortola, B.V.I. July 29, 2003 In response to the growing number of single travelers, Long Bay Beach Resort & Villas, the largest resort on Tortola and in the British Virgin Islands, has declared October Singles Month and launched a "Singles Sale" with 50% off rates. Solo travelers heading to Tortola October 1 through 31 will enjoy rates starting at $77.50 per night, single occupancy, of course. For single friends traveling together in search of some R&R (and a possible love connection), it's just $155 per night, double occupancy.*
For those who would rather not dine alone, Long Bay's eateries, the Beach Café and Garden Restaurant are featuring "Singles Tables" to help open the lines of communications amongst single diners while enjoying a delicious Caribbean meal and discussing post-meal bar hopping excursions.
A dedicated "Matchmaking Concierge" will be in place at Long Bay to aid unattached guests in their quest for fun, love or whatever it is that might be on their solo vacation agenda. Singles can visit with the concierge for a list of nightlife hot spots, to inquire if the cutie they saw on the beach is flying solo or to arrange a candlelight beach dinner in the event a match is made. With so many singles flocking to the resort some may go home with a little more than a souvenir. Needless to say, Long Bay would be happy to reserve a return stay for on-property matches made to serve their wedding or honeymoon needs.

Long Bay Beach Resort & Villas is tucked into a 52-acre hillside on one mile of secluded white-sand beach. All guestrooms (90 rooms, including 10 suites, and 26 villas) feature deluxe air-conditioned accommodations each with a private balcony or deck, a ceiling fan, a wet bar, cable TV, direct dial telephones and more. Some beachfront accommodations are set on stilts at the edge of the sand and have VCRs and hammocks. All hillside rooms have dramatic ocean views and some have Jacuzzis and seating areas. One-to-three-bedroom villas include barbecue facilities, a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. The Garden Restaurant serves international and Caribbean gourmet fare, and the Beach Café is open all day for casual indoor/outdoor dining around the pool. Bars, namely the Beach Bar, the Pelican Pool Bar and Terry's Bar, are plentiful. Bands perform several nights a week. There is snorkeling in the summer and bodysurfing in the winter. A 130-foot free-form pool features a swim-up bar, a separate children¹s section and a water slide. Complimentary tennis clinics and private lessons, run by Peter Burwash International, are served up on two artificial grass courts. The Spa and Fitness Center offers treatments to revitalize and rejuvenate what the bar has wrecked. There is also a nine-hole pitch-and-putt golf course. # # # *Rates are based on availability and do not include tax and service.
