Broken Hearted Ghosts
Thursday September 25, 2003
As I write these stories of haunted hotels, it occurs to me that a large number of the ghosts hanging around hotels are jilted or heartbroken brides. There's Faith at the Hassayampa Inn in Arizona, whose new husband "went for some cigarettes," Emily at the Partridge Inn in Georgia whose fiancé was shot on the way to the wedding, Rosie at the Plains Hotel in Wyoming, who caught her husband philandering on their honeymoon -- to name just a few. Seems like they need some sort of afterlife lonely hearts club. It makes you appreciate a happy ghost like Colonel Tutwiler, who just wants a good meal.
