Good News and Bad News

Hot and Cold: The Alaska Fire Marshall, who froze construction on what was to be the first ice hotel in the United States, has thawed its attitude. After a series of meetings with the hotel's owners and a number of engineers, the Aurora Ice Hotel has been given the go-ahead to resume construction.
Going, Going, Gone: The Regent Wall Street, a luxury hotel in the original New York Mercantile Exchange building, will close January 17 citing huge financial losses that began mounting after the September 11 attacks. Hopefully another investor will pick up this beautiful Greek Revival building and reopen it soon.
