The Anti-Valentine's Getaway

Thursday February 5, 2004
Here's a rare find: a Valentine's Day getaway that isn't geared to gushing couples. For $599 you can spend three nights in the Caribbean, on Anguilla, at a beachside resort. The price includes a lobster dinner and daily breakfast. If you bring a friend (just a friend, now, no couples allowed!) you each pay $429.
More Valentine's Day getaways:
• Undercover Lover Celebrity Escape
• Say "I Love You" in Paris, London or New York City
• "Four Diamonds are Forever" at the Radisson Plaza Hotel Myrtle Beach
• Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort in the Bahamas
• More Valentine's Day specials
• More about this deal:

Celebrate Single-hood This Valentine's Day at Arawak Beach Inn With "Me, Myself & I" Package

No Date Needed: Dinner for One, Room for One, Uninhabited Island Adventure, List of Singles Hotspots & More

Anguilla, BWI -- January 22, 2004 -- Celebrate single-hood! For those looking to spend the "Day of Love" solo this Cupid's season, Arawak Beach Inn is offering a "Me, Myself & I" package for $599* single occupancy, of course. The Valentine's Day package includes three-night accommodations in an ocean view room, daily breakfast, lobster dinner for one and round-trip airport transfers. Plus, for the ultimate solo experience, guests will enjoy a day truly on their own on a nearby uninhabited, deserted island complete with a packed lunch. Transportation to the island is provided by one of the island's local eligible bachelors, who would more than likely be happy to spend the day on the island with a female guest, if invited. For nights out on the town, the innkeeper, a single woman herself, will provide a list of local singles hotspots and she might even join you!

Arawak's "Me, Myself & I" package is valid February 1 through March 31, 2003, because "You don't need a special day like Valentine's Day to love and appreciate yourself," says Maria Hawkins, Arawak's innkeeper. "Who says one is the loneliest number?"

For guests who would like to have a single friend in tow, the package is also available for just $429 per person, double occupancy.* Couples prohibited, but there's a honeymoon package available for those who find an island love connection.

For reservations contact the reservations office at 1-877-4-ARAWAK or e-mail relax@arawakbeach.com. For information visit www.arawakbeach.com.

"This intimate gem sings with island warmth and color," says Fodor's. Arawak Beach Inn features a pool, the Arawak Beach Inn Cafe, home of the Caribbean's best pizza, a bar, and oceanfront accommodations boasting a balcony or deck with spectacular views, a king- or queen-size bed, a refrigerator, and a private bath. Most Oceanfront Deluxe rooms also include cable TV and four-poster beds. But the best part may be Maria Hawkins, Arawak's exuberant innkeeper extraordinaire who offers chauffeured rides around the island in the inn's pick-up truck and invites guest into the kitchen to whip up their favorite meal. Maria makes guests feel at home while in paradise.

The pace at Arawak is entirely up to guests. Lazing around the pool and enjoying the Arawak Beach Inn Cafe's delicious Caribbean fare and International cuisine is a popular "activity." For more adventurous guests, inn staff members will arrange boat excursions, sailing trips, tennis, and diving for an extra fee. Deserted beaches are a short stroll away for snorkeling and letting sand seep through toes.
