Summer in the Swiss Alps
Wednesday May 12, 2004
OK, a ski resort in the Swiss Alps may not be the first option you think of for a summer vacation. But there a more than a few reasons to consider it.
First, there's the savings. A Superior room at the luxurious Badrutt’s Palace Hotel during the winter months can cost up to $1,140 per night; in the summer, the same room can be had for $410, making it possible to live like European royalty while paying a fraction of the price.
Second, the Alps are breathtakingly beautiful in the summer, and events like the Opera Festival (June 26-July 10), the British Classic Car Meeting (July 9-11) and the racing yachts of the St. Moritz Match Race (July 16-18) will insure you have plenty to do and see.
Third, Badrutt’s Palace is offering packages like the "Gourmet Delight" which includes wine tastings, gourmet meals and an eight-course Chef's Table experience. ($3,250 per person for seven nights).
