Tuesday October 12, 2004
New York City's subway system has been an inexpensive and convenient way of navigating Manhattan for a long time -- one hundred years, to be exact. The New York City subway system turns 100 years old later this month, and several hotels on the subway lines are helping guests celebrate. The Westin New York at Times Square, the Hotel Roger Williams, the Franklin Hotel and Hotel 5A are all giving complimentary MetroCard passes and subway maps. The passes are also good on New York City's MTA bus system.

Straphangers must request the cards at check-in. The Westin New York at Times Square is conveniently located just steps away from access to many subway lines, making it easy for hotel guests to get to most destinations within the city in no time at all.
