A few celebrity hotels:
- Pierce Brosnan filmed part of Mrs. Doubtfire at the swimming pool of the Claremont Resort and Spa, and retired to Atlantis Paradise Island for After the Sunset.
- Marilyn Monroe starred in Some Like It Hot, which, although set in Miami, was actually filmed at the Hotel Del Coronado near San Diego.
- The romantic cult movie Somewhere in Time, with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, was based on the book set at the Hotel Del Coronado. The movie was filmed at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
- Currently, I hear from a good source that celebrities have been spotted drinking pricey cocktails at the New York City hotel bars of Hotel Gansevoort, Mandarin Oriental, and the Dream Hotel.
