Hotel Deals of the Week
Wednesday August 3, 2005
From my inbox to you, a few deals that caught my eye this week:
- The Hyatt Regency New Orleans has teamed up with the Audubon Institute for a "Get Wild" family vacation. Three-night packages include accommodations for four, tickets for four to the Zoo and Aquarium (both of which are among the top 5 in America), the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center, daily breakfast buffet, in-room movie, $30 food credit, 1/2 off hotel parking and shuttle service to the aquarium and the French Quarter. (from $179 per night, June 13 through December 29, 2005, 800.233.1234 or hyatt.com, mention code "WILD")
- Round up a few of your trust-fund girlfriends for a foursome at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort (Tucson, Arizona next to the Catalina Mountains). For a group package rate of $14,150, you get, among other goodies, a weekend in the Waterfall Presidential Suite, a motorless aircraft ride over the Sonoran Desert, a horseback ride (dress for the occasion with included custom-fitted Stetsons and cowboy boots), midnight snacks of caviar, chocolate and champagne, and spa treatments. (Substitute a convertible ride for the flight, and the package drops to the bargain rate of $8,820.)
- While we're in that general geographic area, Santa Fe, New Mexico was named by Travel + Leisure as the 3rd best city to visit. To celebrate, Eldorado Hotel & Spa is offering a three-night Santa Fe Experience package. The package includes a historic walking tour, a junior suite with an authentic, wood-burning kiva fireplace, a private butler and daily continental breakfast. (from $333 per night, now through September 30, 2005)
- It's harvest time in the Napa Valley, and the Napa River Inn has a "Table for Two" package. The package includes a picnic basket of goodies to be enjoyed on the scenic Bouchaine Vineyards deck, an Executive Room, breakfast from Sweetie Pie's bakery, an evening wine tasting and a bottle of wine signed by Michael Richmond of Bouchaine. (from $245, 707.251.8500 or concierge@napariverinn.com and mention "Table for Two," July 1 to November 15, 2005)
