Wi-Fi Locator

Tuesday December 13, 2005
Looking for Wi-Fi on the road? If you're stuck like I was last week at a hotel charging high access fees, or want to find more comfortable work options than the hotel's lobby, do a quick search on CNET's HotSpot Zone.

This handy tool lets you search for Wi-Fi hotspots around the world. You can refine your search to within a few blocks of your location, and specify locales like hotels, restaurants, stores and coffee shops. Plus, the results distinguish between free and paid access, and lets you look up information on the various networks.

I hate to say something cliche like "don't leave home without it." But, really. Don't.
