Hotel Rooms For the Stars

Monday March 13, 2006
The Peninsula Beverly Hills, on a normal day, is a favorite of movie and TV stars alike. During Oscar time, this luxury hotel just off Rodeo Drive really lights up.

USA Today has a fascinating look at a day in the life of the Peninsula's general manager. From procuring a "Hooray for Hollywood" CD to celebrate regular guest Judge Judy's star on the Walk of Fame, to hanging from a guest room armoire to check for dust atop, every day is a bit of an adventure in star pampering.
Once he jetted to London just to retrieve a regular's Jack Russell terrier. She missed Millie, but didn't want her pet in the cargo hold. Renting a private jet would cost about $75,000. Little found an airline that allowed an accompanied pet in the cabin, flew over and fetched her. Cost to the guest: $15,000.
