More Places to Play

While the construction on the Las Vegas Strip leans toward condo development, casinos are looking outside the Strip for their next big plays. Last week, the 400-room Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa opened in Summerlin. The billion-dollar resort, touted as the most lavish off-strip casino ever built in Las Vegas, will have 850 guest rooms by next year.
Meanwhile, MGM Mirage is looking to the East Coast, with plans for a $700 million hotel and casino property next door to the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. The resort is under construction with plans to open in Spring 2008.
