Where Do You Stay in Washington, DC?

I'm working on a new list for my Best Hotels series, this time in Washington, DC. I have my favorites, but I'd like to hear from you. Where do you like to stay when you're in the capital?

I usually stay at the Embassy Suites Chevy Chase because it’s affordable and a good location. I take the metro when I’m there, and it’s just downstairs. When I’m not on company business and I have the money I would love to stay at the Hay-Adams. I look forward to your list.
Thanks for your suggestions, Reuben! The shopping center next to the Embassy Suites is a little too dangerous for my wallet, but I do like the hotel. Has anyone stayed at the Hay-Adams lately? I’d love to hear from more of you!
