Checking In: Sofitel St. James
Wednesday November 5, 2008
From the Sofitel Heathrow, I took the 21-minute express train into London's Paddington Station. Once there, I checked into a decidedly different hotel, the intimate Sofitel St. James in central London. Housed in the historic building which was once home to Cox's & King's bank, the Sofitel St. James is solidly in touch with its masculine side while consenting to a few feminine touches. The location, a short stroll from Buckingham Palace, St. James's Park and Big Ben, is perfect for London sightseers. Black and white marble floors, vibrant flowers and commissioned art seamlessly blend staid British tradition with French savoir-faire.
