Curling up with a good book in bed has a way of bringing some comforts of home to your hotel stay--and it's all the more enticing with crisp luxury linens and room service at the ready! More and more, I'm seeing high tech reading material on offer in high-end hotels. Magazines will likely still be there on the coffee table, but check your bedside table, too, for a Kindle or Apple iPad loaded with everything from news sources to popular fiction.

Hotels offering eReaders

  • Suites at the Villa by Barton G in Miami come with Kindle readers, which your personal butler will be happy to show you how to operate for your transcendent reading pleasure.
  • Sofitel hotels in Paris, London, Munich and Brussels are among the first in the chain to offer guests the use of Apple iPads, preloaded with international news sources and more.
  • And a handful of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts -- including South Florida's Fairmont Turnberry Isle and the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston -- have introduced introduced Kobo eReaders, already uploaded with best-selling books.

With all that high-tech reading, who needs TV?

Totally agree with your blog. Books are the best friend. I want to say that every one should at least read books because in books you increase your knowledge.
