If you've done the Atlantis thing in Nassau and are looking for a new Bahamas experience easily accessible from the most bustling town, I suggest calling this beautiful deck in the Northern Exumas your own during an overnight stay with Powerboat Adventures. Day tours bring tourists out to beautiful Ship Channel Cay during an hour-long boat ride from Paradise Island to this idyllic spot in the Northern Exumas. Once there, you get to see a thrilling shark feeding and try your hand at hand-feeding enormous rays as you kneel in the crystal clear water.
After a few hours, the day trip tourists go back to Nassau. But if you've booked the island's overnight accommodation, you get to stay in this remote piece of paradise for the night (or longer). Your hosts will treat you to a delicious Bahamian dinner (conch, lobster and the like) and the entire island is yours to explore for the duration, with hardly a snorkel-sporting tourist in sight. But don't blame yourself if you just park it on the beach for the rest of your stay -- water hardly gets more beautiful, and it's rare in this world to have a place so serene all to yourself. The cottage is rustic-chic, with beautiful artwork, a king bed and separate sleeping area with twin beds to accommodate extra guests. And the wide porch and comfy couch for lounging is just the spot to watch the sunset do its thing right before your eyes.
