Are you gearing up for a tryptophan overload this Thanksgiving? I know we'll be eating more than our fair share of turkey around my house come Thursday. But you might be surprised how many people enjoy having their family Thanksgiving dinner at a hotel or restaurant these days. Two words: no dishes. The New York times recently ran an interesting piece on ethnic Thanksgiving dinner options at restaurants around town. And for something more traditional, you'll find turkey and all the stuffings being touted at hotel restaurants everywhere from Las Vegas to Orlando this holiday season. I'm cooking in this year but taking a little inspiration from the Ayres hotel chain, which has published some great looking Thanksgiving recipes on its blog. I especially like the sounds of the Cranberry Sauce with a Kick from Chef Geoffrey Perea at Le Chateau restaurant at the Ayres Hotel & Suites Costa Mesa in Newport Beach, CA. Two more words: orange liqueur. That's what kicks the cranberry sauce up a notch, and that sounds like just the kicker I need to fight off the tryptophan zzzzzz's this Turkey Day.
