TINGO Watches Your Hotel Rate For You

By November 29, 2012

Follow me on:

Who doesn't love a website that saves you money by continuing to watch hotel rates after you've already booked a room -- and then crediting you money back on your stay if the rate falls before you travel. If you're the type of online booker who's always checking back after you've made an airline, car rental or hotel room reservation to make sure the rates haven't fallen after you've already pressed purchase, such a service can bring some peace of mind. And Tingo has been getting a lot of good press lately for doing just that (in the TripAdvisor family, the site debuted back in March).

Once you've booked your hotel on the site, Tingo keeps a watch on the rate to see if it drops. And if it does, your credit card will be refunded the difference when you check out after your stay. And newly launched on the site is a feature that alerts customers when free room upgrades become available. It works like this: you book, and if a better room becomes available for the same price (or lower) the website will ping you the good news so you can change your reservation. Smart travel, indeed!
