It's always exciting to find a new destination close to home that feels like a departure from the norm. And guest writer Janet Malin, another Florida-based reviewer, recently turned me on to the Jupiter Beach Resort on Florida's Atlantic coast, south of Vero Beach and north of West Palm Beach. Janet's putting together a slideshow with property photos, but the raw beauty of the wild Florida beach in front of the hotel has me very intrigued. Here's what Janet had to say about her stay:
I was really excited to discover the Jupiter Beach Resort. My husband and I spent a weekend there, and it's the perfect spot for a quiet vacation in one of Florida's cutest beach towns. The hotel is pretty big, with 168 guest rooms, a spa, and a beautifully remodeled pool and oceanfront restaurant, but it still feels intimate and quaint. Many of the staff knew us by name by the end of our stay! There's live music several nights a week, when lots of Jupiter locals came out to join the guests and dance to Jimmy Buffet renditions while sipping sunset cocktails. The room decor is very Tommy Bahama-esque and the pretty marble bathrooms had me longing to remodel my own back home. The hotel's beach is particularly interesting and felt wilder than any others I've seen in Florida. The waves crash across limestone rocks, and while I didn't venture out for a dip I spent time lounging beneath the shade of the thick canopy of seagrapes and swinging on a hammock tucked behind the dunes.
Janet, you had me at hammock behind the dunes. Who's ready to escape to Jupiter?
