It's
a Total Disney Experience
Staying in a Disney-designed, Disney-run hotel is like living
inside a theme park for a few days. It's hard to remember the real world
is right outside when your phone rings with a Mickey Mouse wake-up call,
or when you can eat breakfast alongside Goofy. The detail put into the
design and operation of the resorts is phenomenal, and it's easy to choose
a hotel that matches what you love best about Disney. If you never want
to leave the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland, stay at the Polynesian and
surround yourself with the South Seas throughout your vacation. If you
adore Animal Kingdom, choose the Animal
Kingdom Lodge and wake up to zebra and ostrich right outside your
balcony.
Transportation
is a No-Brainer
Disney's transportation makes it easy to forget about cars, traffic and
parking for a week. Buses run constantly from every resort to every theme
park and water park, from before park openings to an hour or so afterward.
Many resorts have more than one bus stop. Some resorts have boat and monorail
transportation as well. You can see the entire Disney resort area from
end to end without ever stepping into a car.
It's
Convenient
If you'll be spending most of your time in Orlando at Disney World, there
is no better place to be than on the Disney resort property. You're much
closer to the action, which means you can get to the theme parks earlier
and return to your hotel faster at the weary end of a long, exciting day.
Often you can see the nightly fireworks from your resort (sometimes even
from your own room).
Guests
Get Special Treatment
Disney has a few special amenities for on-property guests to enjoy. From
delivering your purchases from the theme parks to your hotel, to visits
by Disney characters, Disney makes sure its guests are taken care of.
Disney
TV
One of my favorite traditions at Disney World is the Disney television
channel. No, I'm not talking about the Disney Channel you may get at home.
I mean the Disney Theme Parks Information Channel. My family turns this
on as soon as we arrive at our room, and leaves it on most of the trip.
The channel takes you on a tour of all there is to do at Disney World,
and gives you fun trip tips to the tune of "Zip a Dee Doo Da."
It really puts us in the mood to be at Disney World, and is something
we miss when we stay off-property.
