Family, Family, Family
It would be the understatement of the year to refer to the Resort as "family friendly." The designers must have embraced the philosophy the active children enjoying activities equals happy moms and dads.
Let's start with the resort's rooms. If you are traveling with more than one child, I recommend the Kid's Suite. A Kid's Suite is basically two adjoining rooms that are connected by an open door. Mom and dad have a room to themselves, while the kids enjoy their own room complete with bunk beds designed with safety in mind.
Camp Hyatt
I realize that many resorts have children's day care type facilities, but when your six your old is asking to go to Camp Hyatt as soon as she wakes up because of the fun she had the day before, something is different.
Besides campers getting "room service," (their meals delivered to the Camp) there are all kinds of activities to keep them busy whether it is for two hours or for an entire day: video games, arts & crafts, videos, and counselors that basically cater to the group's desires. One minute they are doing arts and crafts, the next they are swimming in the pool or going on bike rides. The facility was immaculate, and the staff (I know it's cliché), made the difference. They were fantastic with kids! The numbers of children in Camp Hyatt ranged the weekend I visited from as low as one child, to as high as five, a very manageable group.
Hyatt this summer is running a Kids Stay, Play and Eat Free promotion. Guests receive a free night, based upon a minimum length of stay. Guests can also take advantage of the savings when kids come along - one complimentary day session of Camp Hyatt for each child; a free round of golf for kids and complimentary meals for children 12 and under, when dining with a paying adult. Consult Hyatt for the details and conditions on these offers.
Even if your child doesn't go to Camp Hyatt, there are plenty of other activities throughout the week to keep them busy including:
Pool token dive for children - children swim in the pool to retrieve tokens that can be used in arcade video games.
Dive In Movie - A weekly "G" rated poolside movie that you can enjoy while you relax on a float in the pool or from a poolside patio chair. There are also coloring contests, canoe races, sand sculptures, marshmallow roasting, beach volleyball and much more.
