Shades of Green
The U.S. Department of Defense owns this resort on land leased from Disney World, and offers affordable rooms to active and retired military personnel only. The resort reopened in March 2004 after a $92 million renovation. A 600-space parking garage and a new restaurant were also added during the renovation.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney's Polynesian Resort
One of the original three Disney accommodations from 1971, the Polynesian Resort holds a charm for both first-time visitors and those nostalgic for the classic Disney experience. Views from the white sandy beach are of Magic Kingdom landmarks, and the monorail stops in the lobby. The Transportation and Ticket Center is adjacent, where you can catch a monorail to Epcot. Disneys Spirit of Aloha dinner show mixes entertainment with Hawaiian food.

This Deluxe resort is a boat ride from the Magic Kingdom, and has a swimming pool with a short water slide, plus a small beach on Bay Lake.
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort
Atmospheric resort inspired by the Old South features weeping willow trees draping a meandering river and Louisana-style architecture. The grounds themselves are lovely and peaceful (I even saw a baby bunny hopping near the walkway on a recent visit). Wooden bridges transverse the river and lead to amenities.
Disney's Beach Club Resort
The white sandy beaches and large water slide complex of Disney's Beach Club are situated on a lake adjacent to the Epcot theme park. Disney's Beach Club has a more casual decor than its sister resort, Disney's Yacht Club.
Disney's BoardWalk Villas
The Boardwalk is a destination all to itself, with restaurants, clubs, midway games and a great view. The pool is themed to a 1930s Atlantic seacoast resort, with a roller coaster-style water slide ending in a giant clown face. There is also a carousel pool bar and whimsical elephant fountains. A boat ferries guests to nearby Epcot and MGM theme parks; alternatively, you can take a short walk to the International Gateway and dine at any of Epcot's World Showcase restaurants.
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club are sister resorts located a short walk from Epcot's World Showcase. Many consider the pool area (Stormalong Bay), with its shipwreck theming, huge water slide and sandy bottom pool to be the best of any Disney resort. A boat services Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios theme parks (buses are available for transportation to the other parks). Restaurants and entertainment at the Boardwalk are also conveniently close by.
