Who Let the Dogs Inn? Pet-Friendly Hotel Chains
Starwood Hotels and Resorts

By , About.com Guide

Starwood Hotels & Resorts is the most recent chain to adopt a canine-friendly policy. Dubbed the "Starwood LTD (Love that Dog)" program, it has just been rolled out to all Sheraton, W Hotel and Westin properties throughout the U.S and Canada.

Under the new program, dogs can have their own designer beds in which to luxuriate. The beds match the decor of each chain and were designed by celebrity pet outfitter Eloise Pet Accessories. (Eloise is a favorite of the dogs of Dyan Cannon and Deborah Messing, to drop a few names.)

All the Starwood hotels will offer food and water bowls and temporary ID tags with the hotel's contact information. In addition, each Starwood brand will offer their own special amenities for visiting dogs. Westin Hotels will feature beds with miniature "Heavenly Beds" duvets. With a doggie bed this comfortable, you may not have to share the bed with your dog on your next trip. Some Westins will also have plush doggie robes, leashes and collars.

Dogs that check in at a W Hotel will receive a toy, a treat and a bone. They will also enjoy turn-down service with a special nighttime treat. The five W Hotels in New York City will even go so far as to offer in-room doggie massages by a licensed dog massage therapist (and you didn't even know they existed).
