Hotel Monaco started the pet-friendly trend, and continues to offer exceptional service to dogs. Dogs are treated to doggie cookies, temporary ID tags, and a one-hour walking service. Dog sitters are on hand if you need to leave your dog for a while and don't want her to get lonely. Dogs are also provided with food and water bowls and a dog walking map.

Individual Monaco hotels each offer special packages for canine guests. The New Orleans hotel keeps a vet in-house for medical concerns and a bowl of Evian water for discriminating palates. (The package can also be altered to welcome cats.) The San Francisco location has videotapes of classic animal movies Dr. Dolittle, Babe and Lassie. The Seattle Hotel Monaco offers monogrammed doggie coats for use while in the hotel. And the Hotel Monaco in Denver has no size of weight restrictions, and requires no deposit or extra charge for canine guests.
