Munster Germany

Hand-in-hand with Munster's affection for the past is an appreciation for modern art. Next to treasures from hundreds of years ago rest new sculptures and buildings which can only be described as cutting-edge, yet designed with reverence for the old. For example, the new public library, which resembles a massive black, glass and chrome ship, was split into two sections so pedestrians could still have a view of the old church as they walked.

The picture above is an example of a form of modern art, performance art. The plaque specifies a date and time (March 24, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.) People, curious as to what will happen at this time and place, appear at the appointed hour to see what will transpire.
