Dutch Quarter

A
sidewalk café in the
Dutch Quarter of Potsdam. A
four-block historic district
now filled with charming pubs
and restaurants, the Dutch Quarter
was originally constructed in
1735 as a lure for craftsmen
from Holland. The red-brick,
gabled houses and cobblestone
streets may never have attracted
Dutch artisans in the numbers
hoped, but it is a diverting
and unique place to stroll today.
