How Hotel Was Selected: Housed there by local business

Description:
I was put up by the Savannah College of Art as a visiting VIP. They send a lot of business to the Marshall House. If my experience has anything to do with it, they will not any longer.

My only request when reserving the room was to NOT be near an ice machine. Guess where they put me. Next to an ice machine! The loudest one I have ever heard. They moved me to another room when I requested it.

That was only the start of the problems, however. I did not receive wake-up calls. I did not receive a newspaper outside my door, as promised (they claim it must have been swiped by another guest). (Both were necessary for my work). They had no back-up papers (I assume this must happen a lot), and were not willing to walk a half block to a newspaper machine to get one. They told me to get it myself, in my pajamas.

When I finally got a wake-up call on my last day, it was 15 minutes late. They refused to believe me when I told them so, and I even asked them to check their clock to make sure they were not going by the wrong time. They insisted they were right. When I went to the front desk, I asked them the time, and guess what -- their clock was 15 minutes slow! I pointed this out to them (god knows how many people got late wake-up calls because of this) and they did not even thank me for catching this, nor did they apologize ONCE.

It went on and on...surly, not interested in any sort of customer service, absolutely terrible all around for a supposed luxury hotel. AVOID.
