Description:
We travel a great deal, and most hotels we stay at fade from my memory quickly. But that is not the case with the Hotel Alex Johnson in Rapid City, South Dakota.

This 143-room historic hotel has marvelous decor throughout, great period furnishings in the large rooms, a marvelous lobby with both Native American and German decor, and a great sense of history. Plus, Cary Grant stayed there!

Having a great bathtub is one of my priorities, and the tubs in the rooms at the Alex Johnson don't disappoint. The hotel restaurant serves vegetarian fare, and my husband said the steak he had there was the best he ever tasted.

We were able to use our Entertainment book code and received our room at half price - we paid about $47 for one night.
