The historic Hermitage Hotel in Nashville reopened on Valentine's Day. The Hermitage was the first million-dollar hotel when it originally opened in Nashville in 1920. The hotel recently underwent a $17 million renovation, and has set as its lofty goal to become the first AAA Five Diamond and Mobil Five Star hotel in the state of Tennessee.

The hotel is the only commercial Beaux Arts building remaining in Tennessee. Located in downtown Nashville directly across from the State Capitol building, the building's original terra cotta exterior has been preserved and restored. Inside, local artists specializing in historic restoration were commissioned to repaint every wall and decorative feature of the hotel's grand lobby. Interior surfaces, including the glass ceiling and the Russian walnut walls of the ballroom, have been restored. A new fitness center with a view of the Capitol includes marble locker rooms.

Formerly an all-suite hotel, the Hermitage now offers 112 large guest rooms (approximately 475 square feet), a Presidential Suite (about 2,000 square feet), and ten executive and junior suites. Rooms feature marble soaking tubs, seperate water closets, and down-filled duvets. Each suite has a jacuzzi.

The hotel aims to provide guests with the ultimate luxurious experience. Services include personal butler service upon request, private storage trunks for regular guests, 24-hour room service, complimentary high-speed Internet access, and afternoon tea in the lobby.
