Pet-friendly hotels in Boston: Forget the weekend kennel. If you'd feel more comfortable taking your dog or cat along on your next trip to Boston, take heart. There are a number of luxury hotels that will welcome -- even pamper -- your pooch. (If you do plan on talking the whole family, note the first three hotels below are offering special package deals for The Lion King, which is coming to Boston's Opera House in the fall of 2004.)
Ritz-Carlton
This luxury hotel, along with its sister property (below), offers a Pampered Pet Package. It's a splurge (rates start at $540 per night), but when is ultimate luxury ever cheap? Included is deluxe accommodations, fruit and cheese to welcome you, a doggy biscuit selection to welcome your pet, a keepsake water bowl and dog tag, and an hour of pampering -- a massage for you, grooming for your pet.
Ritz-Carlton Boston Commons
This luxury hotel located between the Theater and Financial Districts offers the same Pampered Pet Package described above.
Omni Parker House
This historic hotel in a fantastic location in downtown Boston on the Freedom Trail welcomes pets as well as kids. It is near a number of great places for the whole family to walk to, including Faneuil Hall, Boston Commons, and Quincy Market. The hotel allows pets under 25 pounds with a $50 non-refundable fee.
Eliot Suite Hotel
For a different feel, consider this hotel in Back Bay, near the Public Garden's famous Swan Boats. This boutique hotel has a sushi bar and a French restaurant, and is adjacent to shopping, Copley Square, Fenway Park, Symphony Hall and The Museum of Fine Arts. The hotel allows pets, although they must be crated whenever left in the room. They also offer pet-sitting services.
