The Polynesian Resort holds a charm for both first-time visitors and those nostalgic for the classic Disney experience. One of the original three choices for accommodations in Disney World, the Polynesian Resort can make you forget how much things have changed here since the hotel opened in 1971. With lush tropical landscaping inside and out, white sandy beaches and a location you can't beat, the Polynesian Resort is a good bet for a family getaway. The Polynesian has a very nice atmosphere, and a couple good restaurants, like O' Hana, for example. They serve family style Polynesian meals, and one of the desserts is a snowcone in a sand bucket that you eat out of with shovels. One of the major drawbacks is the room was awfully dirty, with candy wrappers under the beds. Also, you have to go outside to leave your room and go to the main building. In comparison to other Disney resorts, it is an average hotel.
