Gardens and Jesmond Dene Valley:

The Jesmond Dene House's contemporary garden is a source of fresh flowers, produce and herbs for the hotel. Guests will want to wander through it on the way to the adjacent Jesmond Dene valley of native and exotic trees. Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong donated the wooded valley to the City of Newcastle, and now it's a park with walking and jogging trails, bridges and waterfalls. Children will love the Pets' Corner with its potbellied pigs and peacocks.

Reviews of Jesmond Dene House:

Common areas of the Jesmond Dene House retain their historic charm, but the hotel's guestrooms offer contemporary accoutrements and styling. The hotel has in recent years added the New House to the property, a contemporary version of the Arts and Crafts style of the original Jesmond Dene House. I enjoyed the hotel's understated elegance, fresh food and leafy surroundings.
