Gaylord Texan Resort
Guest review by Walt, visited August 2004

From Walt: The hotel is a splendid castle, however the guest services staff is untrained and completely out of sync with each other from the check in, to their "Consider it Done," to the room service.
We stayed their under their "Wedding Dream" package. None of the guest services groups knows what the package includes i.e. flowers and wine or champagne in the room upon arrival, and rose petal with chocolate strawberries. We had to call more than once to get each of the package amenities delivered to the room.

The outdoor bar and grill by the pool has a staff of truly lazy servers. We waited and waited for a waiter and got passed on three times to "someone else will help you soon."

The room telephone didn't work and the previous nights guest complete personnel info card was left in the room, so we knew his wife's name, their address, how much money they make plus home, cell and e-mail address, children ages, etc.

They are currently experiencing severe startup challenges and need someone who syncs all the guest services together. We even had two different staff members telling us not to talk to the other staff member.

We were completely disgusted with the service. If you are looking for a "Wedding Disaster" package and have $300 to throw in the river, this is the package that can't be beat.
