Hilton Key West Resort & Marina

From DK: I just returned from a Key West vacation in which I chose the Hilton Resort because its location is next to Mallory Square facing the ocean.
The rooms were quite pricey ($375 per), but we felt it worthwhile to get the ocean view. When we booked we specified an upper floor with a balcony, and a king bed. Upon check in we were given a 1st floor room by a rude Australian-sounding woman. The room had double beds, no balcony or patio and a view of a hedge and nearby restaurant!

When we complained, the snotty woman said nothing could be done. I persisted, got a nice man who put us on the second floor in a large older room with a large balcony facing the dock. OK, too low a floor but when we arrived the view seemed good and the dock not too busy.

Imagine our surprise when we woke to a dark room because a huge cruise ship was obscuring our view and hordes of people were pouring out of it! Do not try to stay in this hotel!
