From Brian: Everyone complaining about the customer service must not have balled like I did. I was very skeptical about going to Lake Charles for a casino, but I was really taken back on how cool this place is. The valet and the bellhop were very nice, we B.S.'d the whole way up (after passing by huge fireplaces and sweet hallways).
Decided to eat at the Jack Daniel's restaurant for some pre-gambling steak & potatoes & of course whiskey. The git-ups on the waitresses would give Hooter's a run for the money; however, a sit-up class might be needed for those girls who aspire to wait tables.

The room was so nice. I'll give you a brief run-down based on what I noticed first.

1 -- The bathroom -- Wow! I could park a car in there. To my left was a huge stand-up shower surrounded by clear glass. Right next to that was the a decent size bathtub. Lots more room and your normal bathroom fixtures (on contrary to other reviews, I did have coffee maker).

2 -- The bed -- King size, you know what I thought. It was so soft it made getting up for that 9 am tee-time extremely difficult

3 -- The windows -- They covered the whole outer wall, floor to ceiling, great view.

4 -- The rest -- Had a cubbie hole in the wall that was filled with a bench built into the wall about the size of a love seat. The cow print chairs and flat screen in the armoir were also nice.

The gambling was okay, I realize that it was a Saturday night, but they need more space. The tables were all crammed elbow to elbow, I played blackjack, roulette, and let it ride. I would have played others, but waiting in line all night for a spot wasn't my idea of fun ("Hey baby look! Some guy I don't know just hit blackjack").

To kill time (i.e. money) while I waited for a table, drink, or just to have some breathing room from the crowded tables, I played some slots and video poker. Hard to find a quarter machine, so I wasted my time (i.e. money) on $1 slots. I could have won more $$ doubling down 9-King than win here (I think it paid me 6 credits after I installed 40 into it).

Fore! The golf was awesome. The golf attendee picked me up at the front desk and wheeled me over to the clubhouse (not very far, but who needs to walk across a parking lot). The course was pretty nice. It was real open so not many balls were lost, except the one my partner shanked into the parking lot. It played real easy once I learned on 18 that the break in the green was really not a break after all. Overall it had the quirks that new courses have, and like all casino courses it was fun to play.

This casino is one of the best in Louisiana and Mississippi. I can think of 2 others that have a nicer gaming area (visually). I think my room was the best I've ever stayed in. It turned out to be worth the trip, and then some.
