L'Auberge du Lac

From Vicki: This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of potential, but it's too soon to tell if it will sink or swim.
The guest room was nice to look at, but had some problems. The all-white duvet cover had a couple of spots of blood near the head of the bed which is not what you want to see when you lay down. If they're going to go all white, then they need to keep it spotless.

The remote control on the television did not work. It probably just needed new batteries, but considering that the hotel has only been open a few months, maybe they should use a different quality of battery.

The biggest problem was the bathroom. We were put into a wheel chair accessible room without being asked, so there was no bath tub. I would have enjoyed a nice uninterrupted bubble bath, but the worst part was that the shower didn't work. If housekeeping comes in every day and cleans, do they not turn on the water to clean the shower? We reported it as soon as we realized the problem, but by the time it was fixed, we had moved on.

Check out time was 11:00 am and we were given an additional hour. Check in is at 4:00 pm, so you don't even have the room for 24 hours.

The slot machines were very tight. I played a couple of hours and never had a big win. When I don't win, I don't keep playing. There has to be a little encouragement to hold my interest.

The best part of the hotel is the pool area. We could've stayed there all day, especially in the Lazy River. It is so relaxing and the staff was very accommodating.

We will come back to L'Auberge du Lac in a few months and see if it's improved.
