From Mark King: At the time I stayed at the Stanhope I was a hotels consultant with a large travel agency in England so had been to visit and stay at many hotels in England and some in Europe. I really was so impressed with the Stanhope.
It's so informal and personal with a fantastic ambience that makes you think you are in the 1920s. The staff were very friendly and the rooms are pure luxury.

I stayed in one of the 70 suites which was almost house size consisting of a large living room with antique books which could be borrowed and returned if not done with by the time I checked out, two bathrooms, two TVs, walk-in wardrobe and a king size bed.

Messages from friends were hand written and left as a note in my room. They really did make me feel like a king for the weekend and I would seriously recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in New York and be spoiled rotten! Wish I was there!
