Haunted Hotel - The Hawthorne Hotel

By Charlyn Keating Chisholm, About.com

The Story: The hotel, built in the 1920s, originally had guest rooms which shared bathrooms. Modernization has given each room its own private bath, but some guests might not have gotten the memo, as a man in room 325 discovered in 2002.
The Haunting: The guest awoke in the middle of the night to sounds in his bathroom. The light was on, water was running and the toilet flushed. He even heard the TV in the Optional bedroom of his suite. When he complained the next morning, the confused staff showed him that the only entrance to his room was through his own bedroom. No one could have entered without his knowledge. The guest stayed the rest of the week, saying he didn't mind sharing a bathroom as long as it was with a ghost.
