Haunted Hotel - The Pierpont Inn

By Charlyn Keating Chisholm, About.com

The Story: The hotel, operating since 1910, has had different owners and managers over the years. Apparently, some of them don't want to give up control.
The Haunting: In the 1980s, a gentleman in a dark suit entered the bookkeeping office, sat down, and disappeared. Staff members believe it was the ghost of Ted Gleichmann, a former owner and manager who visited the bookkeeping office daily until his death in 1975. Since the hotel started renovations a couple of years ago, several spirits have been sighted during construction. They are believed to be the ghosts of former owners checking up on the changes at the hotel.
