Haunted Hotel - Hotel San Carlos in Phoenix, Arizona

By Charlyn Keating Chisholm, About.com Guide

The Bottom Line:
In 1928, a woman named Leone Jensen went to the roof of the hotel dressed in an evening gown. Said to be brokenhearted over the lost love of a local bellboy, she jumped from the roof to her death.
The Story:
Since that night, guests have reported odd breezes, ghostly noises and the pale shadow of a woman floating in the air.

The hotel also rests on the site of the city's first school, built in 1874. The sound of children running and laughing is often heard, even when no children are checked in at the hotel.
