I was already nervous, thinking of spending the night alone in a haunted hotel, before I saw this doll in the lobby. Her glassy eyes seemed to stare directly at me, even as her head moved slowly from side to side, her lifeless hand frozen in a wave. I'll admit, I was a little freaked out.

The staff of the Queen Anne had a calming effect. They were all quite friendly and helpful, from the woman who checked me into the room, to the knowledgeable concierge, looking quite anachronistic with his shaved head and modern clothes sitting behind his Baroque desk. The manager of the hotel, Michael, was especially friendly. He spent some time with me talking about the Queen Anne's history. Michael showed me a scrapbook made by recent guests of the hotel. They had taken pictures throughout the hotel, and most had orbs appearing in them.
