I decided to spend the whole day on this haunted ship, exploring and looking for ghosts. I came to discover a day was hardy enough. The Queen Mary is nearly twice as large as the Titanic, with twelve decks and nearly 81,237 in gross tonnage.

But where to start? I'd been told that most of the ghost sightings were experienced by tourists who'd gotten lost on the self-guided tour. And if there's one thing I'm good at, it's getting lost. So I struck out on my own.

Below decks, in the engine room, a prankster had spray painted a greeting on a door. I started to think I should have brought a friend along.
