According to the reports, one of the most haunted sections of the ship is the former First Class Swimming Pool. There's even a live ghost cam that watches the pool day and night. The pool is part of the multimedia tour, "Ghosts and Legends of the Queen Mary." So I signed up.

The tour, which takes you to the most haunted sections of the ship, is a special effects extravaganza with fog, huge speakers, lighting and video recreating ghost encounters in a very dramatic way. It was highly entertaining, but it occurred to me as I walked that all of the ghosts must be long scared away by the racket.

Indeed, when we arrived at the First Class Swimming Pool, I enjoyed the view from the balcony for a moment before the lights went out, the pool filled with fog, and speakers pumped out the sounds of screaming.
