From Bitten79times: Hi there. I was delighted to arrive at the Helix for my first stay in DC. Although the "modern" decorations were tacky at best, the place was being paid for by work and I was happy to be there. Then I got in to my room and heard the barking/whining dog next door. Because the hotel is pet friendly. Again, free stay, I dealt with it.
Then I got home, put my luggage under my bed like usual, and the fleas came. Fleas. I don't have pets, I don't have any reason to have fleas until I remembered the barking dog and my luggage on the Helix floor. I was racking my brain trying to come up with how in the heck I would get these horrible nuisances, and the only answer is that hotel. People should definitely know about this. Free stay for me until I've had to pay for an exterminator, sprays, and deal with tens of flea bites on my ankles and legs in the middle of the summer. I look like a crack addict. So don't go there. What a horrible thing to happen to someone who was just visiting. It's been a really big pain to deal with.
