Finally, my boyfriend opens the door to our room and we enter though a bathroom with no doors!!! Walking past the bathroom we enter the bedroom with a shoebox space, and wonderful view of the parking lot! We are so tired at this point as it is very late from a delayed flight that we decide not to go and complain as they told us we could change rooms in the morning to the room we should have had.
In the morning we are woken to a generator outside our room with people talking, and a closet light facing our room that would not turn off. After taking a shower, and the water leaking everywhere onto the slippery floor, there was no place for a woman to do her daily routine in privacy!!! Every little nose can be heard from the bed as one is in the "bathroom."
We go and complain at the front desk, and I tell them everything that happened, and all they say is "I'm sorry about that, but we can only reserve you "A" room, and it doesn't matter which one you get when you come, even if you were supposed to get a certain type of room." They also tell us that the room we stayed at did have a different floor plan, but with its "new" accommodations it was actually more an expensive room on their room listings.
So we finally switched back the second night to our room and it was much improved. We had a better view and there was a door to our bathroom. There was much more space and a better style overall.
I was still very upset from the whole lies about the so called "upgrade" from the night before. Though the price may be more expensive in their listings it was not an upgrade in any means!
Also, another saddening moment at the MGM Grand is when we went to the pool that flows like a river, the "Lazy River" I believe it's called. The pool was incredibly crowded, and I will never go back. If you have a kid, you would not want them to be here as there are drunken people everywhere holding drinks in their hands, and laving them out in the same place as children! I saw a boy walking away from the pool because he got hurt, and was crying and holding his arm. It's just not the most desirable place to be in my perspective. It seems as though the whole system is not thought out in great detail by the upper people in charge.
