From Risa: After reading many not so raving reviews online I was a bit concerned about my upcoming visit to The Peabody hotel. My worry was unnecessary. The hotel was fabulous, the service even better.
I don't require a lot of extras when traveling but when I approached the concierge desk I was addressed with a smile and got more assistance then I had expected. My daughter and I needed transportation to the zoo. In the process of asking for that we mentioned we wanted to go shopping afterward. Charles hooked us up with transportation to the zoo, then to the mall, then back to the hotel. It was great!
The rooms are small and have neither a coffee pot nor a fridge. I don't drink coffee so it wasn't an issue for me. I could have used the fridge, but not a big deal for a short stay.
The Duck March was awesome. The Duck Master makes sure the little kids can see by seating them along the red carpet.
The only other issue I had was the $9.95 fee for Internet access. We didn't use it, didn't need it but still had to pay it. It's a cash cow for the hotel and rather unfair to most guests. If they need to make more money just increase the room rate and be done with it.
All in all our experience was fantastic! I'd go back again in a second!
