When Caesars Palace opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 1966, it set a new standard in opulence and elegance. Today, despite competition from newer hotels, Caesars still holds its own. The Forum Shops are decadent shopping at its best, and is fun to walk through if just to see the blue sky ceiling and fountain statues that come to life. Older kids will love the virtual reality rides. Rooms in the newer Palace Tower are all suites. Themed dinners evoke ancient Rome, and the Palatium buffet is popular. Caesars Palace Hotel Casino: Activities and Amenities
The swimming pool at Caesars Palace, or Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis as they call it (modesty is not a virtue in Las Vegas), is actually four swimming pools, covering four and a half acres. The aura is Romanesque, with classic statues, marble, fountains and lots of greenery. One pool, the Venus, allows European sunbathing (free on weekdays, with a cover charge Fri-Sun). Two hot tubs and several cabanas (some air conditioned) are also available. Cabanas are rented daily and generally include a refrigerator stocked with drinks, a TV and cushioned lounge chairs.
