Built in 1989, this hotel was the first to take the theming to a new level. Designed like an oasis in the desert, the Mirage is lushly landscaped inside and out. The volcano out front erupts throughout the day and night, and many rooms have a great view. Siegfried and Roy have a white tiger habitat here, and a dolphin tank as well. South Seas theming is carried out in a 50-foot waterfall, an aquarium with sharks, and plenty of palm trees. Take a photo tour of Mirage Hotel Casino

Mirage Hotel Casino: Activities and Amenities

Two pools, a meandering lagoon and lots of palm trees make up the relaxing swimming pool area at the Mirage. The pools are heated all year, but do close for a month each winter for maintenance.

Your room key will get you into a VIP viewing area for the nightly show. Bare is the adults-only, European sunbathing pool. Separate from the resort's main pool, Bare provides music from a DJ, two dipping pools and VIP service. The cover charge of $10 for women, $30 for men goes higher on the weekends.

RATS FOUND IN ROOM, Member Mikealf

Believe it or not, there was rats in my Mirage front to the strip room. I went to an annual convention and one of the nights i did not have a chance to have dinner so I picked up a bag of chips and a soda and took it to the room. I left the bag on top of the table and fall asleep, around 2 am i hear a crumbling sound and thought it was the air conditioning, to my surprise, the bag was all eaten up. I had many pictures of the incident and the hotel did not do anything, other than changing me to another room. I WILL NEVER STAY IN THE MIRAGE EVER.... I have stayed in many Vegas hotels during my years, this is a filthy dirty hotel durty hotel. Stayed December 2011, traveled on business
