Donald Trump and Las Vegas seem like a natural fit; both are so over-the-top in their sensibilities. That said, the 64-story gilded-glass tower, housing over 1200 suites, is relatively subdued. A location wa-ay back from the Strip, a quiet lobby bar, and booths curtained for privacy at DJT make it, perhaps ironically, a refuge from excess. You've got quite a walk to any casino (the hotel has none), but sometimes that might be a good thing. Blow your money at the Fashion Mall next door instead. A bit of trivia: the 24-carat gold gilding the windows of the tower cost $20 million. Take a photo tour of Trump Hotel Las Vegas

Trump Hotel Las Vegas: Guest Rooms

My one-bedroom suite had a marble bathroom large enough to throw a party in (if you squeezed three people in the bathtub and four in the shower), a living room with flat-screen TV and sectional sofa, and a full kitchen with stainless-steel appliances. I slept well in the Trump by Stearns &Foster Plush Pillowtop bed. All of the residential-style condo suites are all non-smoking and have custom furniture, full kitchens, marble baths and floor-to-ceiling windows. There are 50 - count 'em, 50 -- penthouse suites.

Trump Hotel Las Vegas: Restaurants

DJT featuring Executive Chef John Jay Watson, formerly of the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans and Lake Las Vegas. Open seasonally, H2(eau) provides poolside casual dining. Nothing at the hotel was open for lunch during my visit, but the Fashion Show Mall next door had plenty of options, from burgers and hot dogs at Johnny Rockets to sushi and steak.

Trump Hotel Las Vegas: Activities and Amenities

The 10,000 square foot Spa at Trump, and a 1,500 square foot fitness center. Access to the fitness center was $22 per day per person - yikes! - but free if you book a spa treatment. The signature massages use gemstone-infused oils; I felt really decadent getting a ruby massage. 2,460 square feet of meeting space

Overnight valet parking is $14. No car? You'll have to take a cab to the Strip, or take the long walk through the Fashion Mall.

Attache Guest Services gives you, at request, access to an in-room computer, a grocery shopping service to stock your kitchen prior to arrival, and personalized stationary including business cards. They remember your requests for subsequent visits.

Decent rooms, terrible terrible service, Member jrcarrell

We are currently staying at the Trump International for our first trip to Vegas and unfortunately this may be the last time we stay here. We checked in late two nights ago and the ordeal went as follows: first trip up to room key did not work, after first trip back down to front desk and back up to same room, we opened the door to find other people's things in the room (just thankful that they weren't in there). We tried to contact the front desk with no success from the hall phone so we made another trip to the front desk. After a ""oh, we're sorry"" from them we were given another set of rooms keys. Back up we went and again, the room keys did not work. By this time I was extremely tired and irritated and they were nice enough to upgrade our room but we lost our strip view. The room was nice however the table in the bathroom was extremely beat up. If I owned and/or operated this hotel I would be embarassed to call it Trump. Regardless, we let it go. We were also informed that our $20/day resort fee covered two bottles of water (maybe 8 oz each) and coffee, however, after our first morning we had to request more coffee from the front desk because it was not restocked. Then our second day here we asked the shuttle driver how late the shuttle ran to and from Ceaser's Palace and he told us midnight so we sat waiting outside Ceaser's Palace for 45 minutes only to call the hotel and be told by valet that service ended at 11 and they were not the least bit concerned about finding out who was providing guests with false information. We did not have much luck when trying to use the hotel phone service to contact departments either. Unfortunately this was one of the most incompetent hotels I have stayed at and has definitely put a damper on our first trip to Vegas. It was nice not to have to deal with a large property or casino in the hotel, but I can't say that it was worth it.
