Circus Circus Hotel Casino
Circus Circus is nonstop action, and not just in the casino. The Adventuredome is a great place to keep kids entertained and offers pay-one-price tickets for theme park rides. The dome, while keeping the weather out, keeps the noise in. The hotel corridors and rooms are also decorated in a rather noisy style. Circus acts are performed every twenty minutes and can been seen from the casino and most of the restaurants. Honestly, the whole place gives me a headache.
Caesars Palace Hotel Casino
When Caesars Palace opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 1966, it set a new standard in opulence and elegance. Today, despite competition from newer hotels, Caesars still holds its own. The Forum Shops are decadent shopping at its best, and is fun to walk through if just to see the blue sky ceiling and fountain statues that come to life. Older kids will love the virtual reality rides.
Monte Carlo Hotel Casino
Affordable elegance with family-friendly amenities. Styled after Monaco's Place du Casino, this more affordable (and less luxurious) version of the Bellagio surrounds guests with quiet elegance and beautiful surroundings. The southern Strip location is very convenient, and a monorail to the Bellagio cuts down on walking time.
New York New York Hotel
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge at New York New York is like walking through a storybook version of the actual city. Everything's there, just on a smaller, cuter scale. The Statue of Liberty stands in front, and inside you'll walk through Central Park, complete with and oak tree. The location is great for families, as M&M World and Gameworks are right across the street. This is Las Vegas at its whimsical best.
Bally's Casino Resort
Large and beautifully lit at night, Bally's is connected to the Paris Resort and Casino, and shares convention and meeting space. You may have spotted the hotel in the "Flying Elvii" scene from the movie "Honeymoon in Vegas."
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay
An all-suite, non-gaming hotel within the Mandalay Bay towers, THEhotel is a sleek option on the south end of the Strip. Guests of THEhotel enjoy all of the amenities of the [link url=http://hotels.about.com/od/lasvegas/p/mandalay_bay.htm]Mandalay Bay casino and resort[/link] complex, including the water park, shopping and restaurants. THEhotel has its own spa, The Bathhouse, and a separate entrance.
Red Rock Casino Resort
The first billion-dollar resort and casino to be built off the Strip, Red Rock takes full advantage of a picturesque setting in the mountains. This luxury resort was conceived on a smaller scale then the typical Strip behemoth, resulting in a more intimate feel. Las Vegas flash is added with over three million crystals woven into the decor. Glass windows overlook the surrounding mountains.
Jockey Club Las Vegas
The only all-suite, no-casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.
Palms Las Vegas
Playboy-inspired hotel west of the Strip popular with the L.A. Crowd and celebrities like Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson. A magnet for celebrities, the Palms has been making waves among the hip and young crowd since its opening in 2001. A South Beach atmosphere and two of the hottest nightclubs in town add to the draw.
Mirage Hotel Casino
Built in 1989, this hotel was the first to take the theming to a new level. Designed like an oasis in the desert, the Mirage is lushly landscaped inside and out. The volcano out front erupts throughout the day and night, and many rooms have a great view. Siegfried and Roy have a white tiger habitat here, and a dolphin tank as well. South Seas theming is carried out in a 50-foot waterfall, an aquarium with sharks, and plenty of palm trees.
Carriage House
Elegant, comfortable suites in a quiet, romantic setting. This large suite hotel is more towering than its name would imply. Close enough to the Strip for all the casino action and attractions, the hotel itself does not have a casino.
Las Vegas Hilton
Off the Strip but on the Las Vegas monorail line. Worth a hike out there just for Star Trek: The Experience, featuring two themed attractions and plenty of memorabilia (I'm not a huge fan of the series and still enjoyed it quite a bit).
