What's Special About Paris:

If you can't swing the overseas flight, Paris Las Vegas will give you a taste of the City of Lights. The hotel catches your eye from the Strip with a replica of the Eiffel Tower. Inside the hotel and casino is a dollhouse version of the city, with cobblestone streets, sidewalk cafes and folks greeting you with "Bonjour."

• The Paris Las Vegas is one of my favorites for the buffet alone, which gives tastes of several different regions of France, all at one sitting (don't miss the cheese bar).

Activities and Amenities at Paris:

• The Paris Las Vegas swimming pool and hot tub, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, covers two acres of the hotel's rooftop. Hours are pretty restricted; the pool is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in winter and spring and 8:00 am to 8:00 pm in the summer.
• Private poolside cabanas and air conditioned poolside villas are available for daily rental starting at about $200.

Central on the Strip, on the Las Vegas monorail line next to sister property Bally's, and across from the Bellagio.
